Using the MAGIC™-L3 Built-in Camera Feature

The MAGIC-L3 is a super flexible fiber laser marking machine, perfect for engraving and cutting metals like rings and pendants with power options ranging from 20W to 100W.

Whether you're working on jewelry or industrial parts, its compact size and quiet operation make it a great fit for offices and home use. Plus, it's user-friendly, so even beginners can jump right in!

Step 1: Secure Your Material

Start by securing the item you want to engrave.

You can use the standard flat vise on the MAGIC-L3's work area, or, for pendants, secure it on a workbench above.

The light and camera module on the back of the MAGIC-L3’s head helps hold the piece in place.

You’ll be able to see your clamped workpiece in the MAGIC Engrave-Laser design software.

You can either engrave a single piece with the flat vise or place multiple pieces directly on the work surface and engrave them all at once—no vise needed!

Step 2: Use the Built-in Camera to Create Your Design

Open up the MAGIC Engrave Laser software, then turn on the built-in camera by clicking "Turn on camera" under the "Camera" tab on the right side of the screen.

With the camera on, you can start creating your design by writing text directly onto the pendant that’s visible on your screen.

For bulk engraving, write the text, double-click to adjust the angle and size, and get your design just right!

Step 3: Create a Toolpath and Start Engraving

Once your design is ready, select the text you want to engrave and click "Scanline Toolpath" in the top right corner under "Create Toolpath."

This step turns your design into a path for the laser to follow, sending it to the engraver for processing.

You’ll notice the text turns orange when creating a toolpath, and you can even preview the final design with a red laser pointer on your material.

Once everything looks good, hit the “Start” button, and let the MAGIC-L3 do its thing!

That’s it! You've just engraved a pendant using the built-in camera feature of the multipurpose fiber laser machine, MAGIC-L3.
